The Black Phone was what seemed like a great new horror character, and it quickly became a beloved horror movie that opened the door to a whole new universe, and Ethan is the villain we had all been asking for.
The film was a total success for Universal Pictures, as it left everyone who saw the movie very satisfied, as they got a good story, with good characters and several very scary moments, worthy of the same creator of Sinister.
After the good reception of Scott Derrickson’s new movie, it was confirmed that Black Phone would have a sequel, despite all the rumors that had been heard before. Now it’s a reality and fans have been very excited.
Long-awaited sequel to horror film The Black Phone confirmed
It has been reported that Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions has authorized the original ‘Black Phone’ team to start a sequel to the film. This means that director Scott Derrickson will return to direct the film.
It looks like Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill will return to write the sequel, and it has been confirmed that Ethan Hawke, who has already played the role of the villain in the first part, will star. The film will be produced by Crooked Highway Production and Universal along with Blumhouse. Universal will distribute the film once it is ready.
Even, in case you need more information, there is already a possible release date and it would be June 27, 2025, if there is not another actors’ strike or something that stops the film industry again to move all the projects that have been announced in the future.
