Through recent statements, LAY announced he won’t participate in EXO‘s upcoming fan meeting, ‘EXO’verse‘, due to ‘unavoidable circumstances’, saddening many fans who have been waiting for the boy group reunion.
SM Entertainment shared a new statement announcing that “due to unavoidable circumstances, member Lay will unfortunately be unable to participate in the fan meeting”, asking fans for their understanding and continued support for all the members.

For his part, LAY shared a post on Weibo to calm fans who had been worried about the first statement: “I rushed back to Beijing this morning to attend an important event at the National Theatre of China”, explained the idol.
“I have arrived safely in Beijing, so please don’t worry. I sincerely apologize to my fans, teammates, company, and everyone affected by my absence”, he concluded, generating mixed reactions on social networks:
