Lana Del Rey revealed the name and the cover of her new album. This enraged the netizens due to the strange description.
This 35-year-old singer announced that her new album would be named ‘Chemtrails Over The Country Club’. Then she said that she was indulging in “tokenism” by including “women of color” on the album cover.
In a confusing instagram post, Del Rey said that the women of the album were her friends. However, she said:
“I also want to say that with everything going on this year! And no this was not intended-these are my best friends, since you are asking today. And damn! As it happens when it comes to my amazing friends and this cover yes there are people of color on this records picture and that’s all I’ll say about that but thank you.

these are my friends this is my life. We are all a beautiful mix of everything- some more than others which is visible and celebrated in everything I do. My dearest friends have been from all over the place, so before you make comments again about a WOC/POC issue, I’m not the one storming the capital, I’m literally changing the world by putting my life and thoughts and love out there on the table 24 seven.

After this, a lot of fans scoffed at the idea that Del Rey was ‘changing the world’ wit her album. Also, other fans disagreed with her ‘My best friends are rappers my boyfriends have been rappers. In adittion, in 2020 the critics attacked Del Rey for writing songs with lyrics that were about “glamorous abuse.” Del Rey’s response was to name artists like Cardi B and Nicki Minaj as artists who wrote songs about “being sexy, not dressing, f*ck and cheating”
