The KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack has officially made its way to the top of the ARIA Albums Chart in Australia. This marks the first time in 8 years since the songs from an animated film made moves in the Aussie charts, with the previous one having been“Trolls” in 2017. This might be an animated movie, but their bops and success are very real!
Not only is the album No. 1, but its songs are also storming the ARIA Singles Chart. “Golden” flew from No. 8 to No. 2, “Your Idol” hit the top 10. Meanwhile, other tracks like “Soda Pop” and “How It’s Done” are climbing up the tally, moving across the top 20 and top 30. The last soundtrack to top ARIA was Barbie: The Album in 2023, so clearly the power of HUNTR/X and Saja Boys (the girl group and boy group in the film) is going strong. Meanwhile, Sydney punk band FANGZ scored their first top 10 with their debut album Shui, landing at No. 8. Lorde’s Virgin stayed strong at No. 2, and Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet slid into No. 3.

Most recently, HUNTR/X and Saja Boys outstreamed BLACKPINK and BTS on United States Spotify, proving the soundtrack’s global success. “Your Idol” climbed to No. 1 on the U.S. Spotify chart, beating BTS’s “Dynamite,” which peaked at No. 3 back in 2020. Similarly, the girl group from the same film, HUNTR/X, also soared to No. 1 with “Golden,” surpassing BLACKPINK for the highest-charting K-pop girl group in the U.S. Yes, fictional idols are out here setting records!
