KPop Demon Hunters EJAE, known for being Rumi’s singing voice, is making headlines for her hilarious honesty about her next phase in life (and it doesn’t include any dancing). In a recent Vulture interview following her freshly released track “In Another World” on October 24th, EJAE jokingly admitted that dancing was the last thing on her mind:
“I can’t say no, but hell no. I don’t want to be dancing. Girl, I want to get pregnant! I need babies, not dancing!”
At 33, EJAE is balancing her fast-rising solo career and engagement to her longtime producer fiancé, whom she met in 2017. She explained that juggling songwriting, the movie work from KPop Demon Hunters, and her demanding vocals already keep her on her toes. “Do you know how hard it is to dance and sing? I’m singing this crazy vocal gymnastics of a song called Golden, writing for the movie, and writing as an artist. Dancing will happen if I feel it,” she said with a laugh.
HUNTR/X’s EJAE jokingly responds to Vulture when asked if she’ll dance during her performances:
“Hell no. I don’t want to be dancing, girl I wanna get pregnant. I need babies, not dancing. Do you know how hard it is to dance and sing? Mm-mm.”

EJAE’s new single “In Another World” has earned emotional praise, especially from her fiancé, who cried after watching the music video. She shared that the track explores her own journey of self-acceptance (a theme deeply tied to her KPop Demon Hunters character, Rumi). “It’s not just about relationships,” she reflected. “It’s about growing into the version of myself I could’ve been.”
