Ready for some royal glam, BLACKPINK stans? This Tuesday, none other than King Charles lll hosted a swanky dinner in Buckingham Palace. It was all to honor the visit of the South Korean President, Yoon Suk Yeol, and the First Lady, Kim Keon Hee, to the UK. And guess what? The BLACKPINK ladies were invited to the event – talk about true Kpop queens!
Now, don’t get us started on their dresses! Their fits were on point, with Rosé and Jisoo going for a more reserved and classy vibe in black. Then, Lisa was wearing a light blue dress and Jennie decided to wear a white one – that’s how you go from girl gang to girl royalty!
But this is where it gets juicy: King Charles decided to give a speech, praising the relationship between South Korea and the United Kingdom. Then, he made some comments about the efforts South Korea has made in sustainability and boom! He gave a massive shout-out to BLACKPINK, saying:
“I applaud Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé, better known collectively as BLACKPINK, for their role in bringing the message of environmental sustainability to a global audience,” he said praising our Kpop queens.
Then, the monarch admitted he totally admired the “Whistle” superstars, as they were able to prioritize these ecological issues, as well as being the global hitmakers we know and love! After, he confessed he could never have much of that “Gangnam Style,” referencing PSY as a joke.
This was definitely the crossover between royalty and Kpop we didn’t know we needed. King Charles was totally accurate with his references in his speech, and the BLACKPINK girls slayed in a classy and elegant way. The cherry on top? That massive shout-out! We’re sure the girls were super hyped.
