King Charles III might be missing his nephew’s wedding

King Charles III and Queen Camilla may be gearing up for a busy day blending a family, even with a royal duty. The wedding of the King’s nephew, Peter Phillips, to Harriet Sperling is scheduled for June 6, at the same time as the Jockey Club’s reunion.

On May 29, it was revealed that the Monarch of the United Kingdom will attend Betfred Derby Day at Epsom Downs on Saturday, June 6. The King and Queen Camilla are joint patrons of The Jockey Club, which owns and runs Epsom Downs Racecourse, so there’s an event that cannot be avoided under any circumstances.

Although the two events are about 100 miles apart, Peter and Harriet are set to tie the knot at All Saints’ Church in Kemble, Cirencester, while Epsom Downs is located in Epsom, Surrey, southwest of London. So King Charles III and Camilla may make both. Only time will tell if they will be able to manage their agenda correctly. On the other hand, the general manager of Epsom Downs Racecourse said the organization was “honored and thrilled” to have the royal couple join them for the big day.

“Their Majesties show great enthusiasm, interest, and support for horse racing in the U.K., and their attendance next week will be a proud moment for all of the team here and everyone connected with the racecourse. Derby Day provides joy and entertainment to millions of people around the world as one of Britain’s most famous and iconic events, and royal attendance has been synonymous with the meeting for generations.”
