KATSEYE has announced that they will no longer perform at Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields festival after member Megan suffered a sprained ankle. The (temporary) 4-member team shared the news through Instagram Stories, apologizing to EYEKONs and explaining that they were not able to perform at the event scheduled for Saturday, August 29, in Irvine, California. KATSEYE also sent love to Olivia Rodrigo and said they were disappointed about missing the event.
“Megan sprained her ankle yesterday during tour rehearsal and after being evaluated by doctors, she has been advised to stay off it and allow it to properly heal so we can be ready for our upcoming tour,” the statement revealed. “We know how much our fans were looking forward to seeing us, and it breaks our hearts to disappoint anyone who made plans to be there.”
“We were especially excited for Daisy Chain Fields because it’s not just about music, but the greater mission of joy and community. We’re sending all our love to Olivia and to all of the incredible artists, non-profit organizations and volunteers who have given their time to make this day so special,” the message concluded.
The first-ever Daisy Chain Fields festival features an all-women lineup curated by Olivia Rodrigo herself. Artists scheduled to appear include Chappell Roan, Doechii, Rachel Chinouriri, The Breeders and Garbage, along with special guests Stevie Nicks, Karen O and Sarah McLachlan. The musical event will support charities that help women and girls, including Planned Parenthood and the Center for Reproductive Rights. Meanwhile, alternative pop singer Devon Agnus will replace KATSEYE on Saturday. The festival took to social media to announce the lineup change, saying:
“KATSEYE member Megan is recovering from a sprained ankle, and the group will no longer be able to perform this weekend. We are wishing Megan a smooth and speedy recovery!”
The cancellation comes during a challenging year for KATSEYE. In February, Manon was put on hiatus to focus on her mental health and well-being. Earlier in August, Sophia also stepped back from group activities to prioritize her health. This left Lara, Daniela, Yoonchae, and Megan as the active members, making the group a quartet for the time being.
