With Kate Middleton getting attacked left and right in social media due to her recently released Mother’s Day photo that’s been flagged for overediting and AI usage, Meghan Markle is now being praised by internet users for identifying the issue before it permanently affected her and leaving the Royal Family before it was too late, and it seems it was the right decision to make.
Kate Middleton is suffering from the inevitable downs of being a public servant and a public figure with extreme relevance: everything she does is overanalyzed. The Duchess of Cambridge decided to celebrate Mother’s Day last March 10th with a picture that she posted to social media, which got overanalyzed by internet users and some eagle eyed followers detected anomalies on the photo, such as weird hands that look AI generated and excessive editing.
Kate was asked to release a public statement clarifying that she edited the photo herself and admitted committing amateur mistakes, which did not help at all since four of the biggest photo agencies in the world: AP, AFP, Getty, and Reuters, all asked for the photo to be taken down of all social media and to dismiss its usage, the Crown did not bother to get involved to help the future queen with this situation. That’s the kind of treatment from the public and the Royal Institution that Meghan Markle identified early on her Royal career, and that she considered in order to take the crucial decision to part ways with the crown four years ago, to avoid precisely this kind of situations where public scrutiny is brutal.
This has earned Meghan Markle a lot of good comments, where people recognize her ability to spot out disadvantageous aspects of her situations, and to be able to quit for the better and run for her life, just as she did when she decided to step down as a senior royal member along with her husband, the prince Harry, who she is now living with in Montecito, California. She now has all the relevance that she earned from her Duchess of Sussex days, but without the mistreatments.
