A royal move with a hidden bonus
Princess Kate Middleton officially leveled up her hobby life when she, Prince William, and their three kids moved into Forest Lodge in October 2025. The beautiful Windsor Great Park property is cozy, private, and tucked away from the world’s chaos. But the real treasure is a secret feature that fits Kate like a glove! Forest Lodge has its very own private lake, which means The Princess of Wales can splash, dive, dip, and chill out whenever she decides to. Real royal fans would know that Kate is one for a nice cold swim!

The sporty princess swimming the day away
Kate Middleton, who’s now 43 years old, has always been the sporty one in the family. Back in 2023, she hopped on The Good, The Bad & The Rugby podcast with Prince William and Princess Anne. Back then, she revealed that her favorite pastime is cold water swimming, saying she loves it and even laughed about how William thinks she is a total daredevil because she swims no matter the conditions.
“The colder, the better. I absolutely love it,” she said. “Slightly to the point where William’s like, ‘Catherine, you’re crazy,’ ” she said, laughing. “And it’s dark, and it’s raining, and I’ll go and seek out cold water.”
A fresh chapter for the Wales family
Forest Lodge marks a new beginning for the royal family. Prince George, Princess Charlottte and Prince Louis all have more space to grow and explore. Meanwhile, Kate Middleton and Prince William might find comfort in a new place, closing out a tough chapter for the family. Their last home, Adelaide Cottage, became linked to several heavy moments, including the passing of Queen Elizabeth in September 2022, the drama surrounding Prince Harry’s docuseries and book in 2023, and both King Charles and Princess Kate sharing cancer diagnoses in 2024.
