Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle’s rivalry keeps growing and it seems that they have never gotten along. As the wives of Prince William and Prince Harry, both have to fulfill similar duties. However, Middleton will eventually become Queen Consort and Meghan will always remain a Princess.
Since both ladies had similar experiences, the public expected them to be supportive of each other and become best friends but that is far from what is actually happening. There have been several controversies surrounding both families that have led to them drifting apart.
In 2020, Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior working royals and moved to the United States. According to them, they wanted to live a calmer life and they did not want to continue working for someone that clearly hates them. After that, the situation took a turn for the worse when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex gave several interviews openly criticizing the royal family. The accusations went as far as saying that they were racist toward Meghan.
According to a source close to both families, their feud began when both of them had to attend the same event. During the preparations, Markle chose a dress made by the respected fashion designer Erdem Moralioglu and that is when she found that Middleton had chosen the same dress as well. This infuriated Meghan and the relationship between the two ladies has never been the same since then.
