BLACKPINK’s new album, “DEADLINE,” has become a global phenomenon and has broken some major records in the streaming field. However, South Korea hasn’t received the new musical material warmly from the girls, who were in an almost three-year-hiatus.
On March 5, a new episode of M Countdown was broadcast. The rookie act, Hearts2Hearts, stole the show with a significant first win over BLACKPINK. The eighth member group collected 9,398 points for “RUDE!”, while BLACKPINK’s “GO” collected 8,239, making the K-Netizens wonder why BLACKPINK is not succeeding at all in the South Korean music programs.

Many K-Netizens highlight that BLACKPINK’s comeback has become monotonous. Some others stated the group isn’t working well together since their solo releases, and the lack of promotions and choreographies makes this “downfall” worthy of being studied by the music industry.
BLACKPINK must find a way to stay relevant in the Kpop scene by changing the course of their career as a group, before they get forgotten with zero support in the South Korean music program circuits.
