Jungkook is back in the conversation due to past comments he had made about NewJeans. The renewed attention on his remarks began when Korean users revisited Instagram posts he made through his dog Bam’s account in September 2024, 2025. One of the posts said “artists are not guilty,” accompanied by five coloured hearts linked to NewJeans members in the caption. A second post firmly said, “don’t use them,” also referring to the quintet. At the time, BIGHIT MUSIC confirmed the posts were his and that he wanted to protect young artists from being dragged into disputes.
These Instagram comments have regained traction due to the ongoing situation between NewJeans and HYBE’s ADOR. On November 13, 2025, ADOR announced that members Hyein and Haerin had returned to the company, while staying silent on Minji, Hanni, and Danielle’s return. After this, the three remaining members had to make a statement expressing their intention to come back, but the agency has not made it official and only announced that they were coordinating individual meetings with the members. The timing made many look back at Jungkook’s early comments with different appreciations.
The reactions to Jungkook’s past remarks have been mixed. Some praised the K-pop star for speaking up. Others insisted the posts were vague and didn’t contribute much to the conversation or their legal battle. Meanwhile, the court has ruled that NewJeans’ contract with HYBE’s ADOR is still valid, and after months of legal battles, the group finally agreed to return to the company. However, opinions remain more divided than ever, with NewJeans themselves facing a wave of scrutiny.
