The event wasn’t just a comedy show, it was a fundraiser event with profits going to the American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA), supporting humanitarian efforts in the Gaza Strip.
But here’s where the drama and the boycott threat kicks in: On her podcast, “The Megyn Kelly Show,” Kelly went on a whole rant about Taylor Swift’s presence at the event. The commentator called for a full-on boycott of every event Taylor has until she issues an official apology. She insists that the “Shake It Off” attendance was wrong and that she owes an apology to Israelis and Jewish Americans.
But the comments didn’t stop there. She also pointed out Taylor’s advocacy for LGBTQ rights and women’s issues, questioning her support for Gaza in light of these causes. “Taylor Swift, who has been out there tweeting about her support for the LGBTQ community, you know what they do to that community in Gaza, Taylor, that you now want to support,” the woman said.
