There are actors who are part of such iconic films that, no matter what generation you are in, you may have already heard their names. John Travolta is undoubtedly one of them.

John Travolta was the crush of many generations, and it is that his great talent, charisma and steps, seduced so many people that it is difficult to calculate, making the actor became an essential figure for the cinema and for our entertainment, but the years have passed and with that, his presence in films that are becoming less and less.

The actor has recently given the light to the media, and he has decided to share a terrible experience he lived that will be very difficult to overcome. He could have lost his life and it is something he will never forget. John Travolta had an experience very close to death.

Although Travolta did not say when the incident occurred, the actor recalled in a 1995 New Yorker interview that he had to make an emergency landing at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in 1992 due to an engine failure while traveling with his family.

The well-known actor claimed that the experience taught him:

“what it felt like to absolutely think you’re going to die,” adding, “I had two jet engines, but I had no instruments, no electric, nothing.”
“I thought it was over,” he said, “just like this boy, portrayed so beautifully [by actor Ben Radcliffe]. He captured that despair when you think you’re actually going to die. I had my family on board and I said, ‘This is it. I can’t believe I’m going to die in this plane.'”
“And then, as if by a miracle, we descended to a lower altitude,” he said. “I saw the Washington D.C. Monument and identified that Washington National Airport was right next to it, and I made a landing just like [the character Freddie] does in the film. So I’m reading this book saying, ‘I’ve lived this.'”

What do you think about what happened to the actor? Do you think it is a sensitive subject that should be talked about in front of a camera?
