The series introduces a virtual dating story led by Jisoo

Netflix will premiere Boyfriend on Demand on March 6, 2026, marking Jisoo’s latest acting project following her global success with BLACKPINK. The series stars Jisoo as Seo Mirae, a tired webtoon producer who signs up for a subscription-based virtual reality dating program. Through this program, Seo Mirae experiences different romantic storylines that begin to affect her real life. The Korean title, 월간남친, translates to “monthly boyfriend,” proving the concept of temporary couples.

The show is written by Namgung Doyoung in his script debut and directed by Kim Jungsik, known for So Not Worth It and Strong Girl Nam Soon. Actor Seo Inguk plays Park Kyeongnam, Mirae’s fellow webtoon producer, college rival, and romantic interest.

Netflix released the initial teaser in early February 2026, followed by the official trailer on February 19, 2026. Watch them here:

Adding excitement to the premiere, Netflix released a new poster on February 25, 2026, showing Seo Mirae sitting down with multiple bubbles around her. These bubbles represent the different romantic partners on the “monthly boyfriend” program. Park Kyeongnam can also be spotted in the poster, holding a mug and endearingly looking at Seo Mirae.
