According to new reports from The Hollywood Reporter, it was confirmed that Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will return for the upcoming ‘The Hunger Games‘ prequel, generating great reaction among all fans of the franchise.
Katniss and Peeta return in the next movie of The Hunger Games franchise
The media outlets report that both actors will return to their famous roles as Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark since their last appearance in the franchise for ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2’ in 2015 for a new movie prequel for Lionsgate titled ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping‘.
Although the details are still unknown, in the movie set in the world of Panem 24 years before the events of ‘The Hunger Games’, there’s a scene in the new Suzanne Collins book where a grown Peeta and Katniss listen to Haymitch Abernathy as he recounts his Hunger Game to them.

Lionsgate did not respond to a request for comment, and more details about Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson’s appearance at ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping’ are pending, meanwhile the movie hits theaters on November 20, 2026.
