In a recent interview on the Armchair Expert podcast, Jennifer Aniston opens up about the ‘selfish’ reason she never wanted to adopt despite her infertility struggles.
Previously, the actress had talked about her infertility struggles, including going through in vitro fertilization (IVF), but this time, after co-host Monica Padman discussed her experience freezing her eggs, the topic of adoption came up.
Padman asked Aniston if she has found “peace” after finding out she cannot have kids, to which she said “It’s so peaceful”, and continued, “But I will say there’s a point where it’s like out of my control. There’s literally nothing I can do about it”
“When people say, ‘But you can adopt’, I don’t want to adopt”, she continued. “I want my own DNA in a little person. That’s the only way, selfish or not, whatever that is, I’ve wanted it”.
Jennifer Aniston explains why she never wanted to adopt children amid infertility struggles:
