Since it seems that young adult literature is in fashion again, a new Twilight adaptation wouldn’t be a bad idea at all, considering that we will soon have Harry Potter, Twilight doesn’t sound like a bad idea at all.
And we have to remember that the Twilight movies were based on a saga of books, which means that it can be reinterpreted over and over again, and let’s be honest, we would all watch it, including me.
But if this distant dream were to come true and for the time being we had the wonderful news that there will be a new Twilight movie or series, we couldn’t help but think about the possible cast we would like to see portraying Bella and Edward.
Now, if we already have the idea of a new production, have you wondered what the director would think of having more Twilight movies with new celebrities? Well, we already have a few names to give us a little idea.
Hardwicke participated in a special live viewing of Josh Horowitz on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast and, in response to a recommendation from Horowitz, Catherine agreed that Jenna Ortega and Jacob Elordi were good actors:
“Oh yeah, that would be perfect, they would be perfect to play Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. I mean, that’s awesome. Jacob today would probably be Edward. I think there are a lot of really interesting young actors today. Of course, you just mentioned Jenna Ortega, she’s amazing.”
And to make that interview better, the director talked about what it was like to cast Robert Pattinson:
“When Robert came to my house, he had black bangs as hair and he was a little out of shape because he was in the pub all the time. I had to be sure it would work not only in person, but also on screen.’ I sent funny auditions to the studio and they called me back and said, ‘Do you think you can make this guy look good?’ Did you see his cheekbones. We’re giving him a makeover on his hair and everything and he’ll start working out and he’ll be glowing. But at first they didn’t believe it. He walked over there with a stained shirt on…. It was Rob. “
