ITZY’s Ryujin apologizes for her controversial video adjusting her costume on stage

Ryujin blames her jumpsuit for riding up way too high at the worst possible moment

Through a recent live stream, ITZY‘s Ryujin apologises for her controversial video adjusting her costume on stage, generating mixed comments among fans and netizens on social networks.

In recent days, the K-pop idol went viral due to a new video of her adjusting her outfit during one of the girl group performances, which generated debate among netizens who state it was inappropriate while others defend her innocent actions.

On July 18th, Ryujin went live on Bubble, where she addressed the controversy with humour and seriousness. “Right now, I’m getting a lot of messages from people around me and also getting scolded quite a bit.”

She continued explaining her actions, admitting a mistake: “First of all, that jumpsuit was riding up way too high, and it was genuinely so uncomfortable and painful. I wasn’t thinking straight at the moment; I just really needed to pull it down. But looking back at the footage myself, I agree it definitely looked like my hand went in a bit too deep.”

“I think I’ve gotten so comfortable around Midzy lately that I completely let my guard down on stage and acted without thinking. I am so deeply sorry for that.”

The ITZY member concluded, assuring this won’t happen again, blaming the uncomfortable costume and admitting to feeling disappointed in herself. “I will never reach into my pants in public, especially on stage, ever again.”

The idol did not lose her sense of humour at the end of her statement, saying, “Next time I have to wear a jumpsuit, I’ll just bring a pair of scissors on stage with me. Just kidding…” showing that, although she apologised honestly, it wasn’t a big deal.
