HYBE has responded to online rumors about BTS’ Spotify numbers by calling the claims false and warning that legal action may come next. According to Chosun Biz on April 3, 2026, the issue began that same day when an image of unclear origin spread across X and online forums. The picture in question claimed that “Swim,” the main single from BTS’ fifth studio album ARIRANG, had recorded only 5,198 daily streams on Spotify as of April 1, 2026. It also alleged that the track’s numbers had fallen by about 99.95% from the previous March 31, which quickly sparked conversations online.

As the image began circulating, the claim moved beyond social media and reached online investment communities, where some people began to discuss possible business and financial effects. Then, HYBE stepped in and said the data was fabricated. According to the report, the company stated that the viral image did not show official figures and described the numbers as unrealistic. The company revealed that the information was confirmed directly with Spotify, which verified that the stream numbers circulating online were false.
