Last Thursday, January 5th, several media outlets reported that RM of BTS had visited the Hwaeomsa Buddhist temple located in Gurye, Jeollanam-do last December. According to reports, the temple’s head monk Deokmun revealed details of the private conversation he had with the BTS leader.
This conversation, although private, was shared by the media and revealed aspects of RM’s military service and global influence, who was accompanied by music producer Kang San.

As a result of the leak, RM expressed his frustration through several stories posted on his personal Instagram account, confessing that he plans to go to another temple next time. Fans criticized the temple and the monk, as well as the media for sharing a private conversation.

Later, Hwaeomsa Temple released a statement where it denied any knowledge of how the conversation was leaked to the media:
“We do not know how RM’s visit was reported“.
“Monk goes (again) to the media and tells the media that he didn’t know that doing an interview with a journalist would lead to interview coverage“.
