Russian fans are currently defying the country’s LGBTQQIAAP propaganda restrictions, which were labeled as “gay propaganda law,” just to watch it. The Canadian romantic sports drama series has quickly become the biggest sensation since its release in November 2025.
Russian journalist, Mikhail Zygar, commented on the series by explaining the extraordinary success in Eastern European countries, despite not being available on any Russian streaming platform. Zygar exemplified this success by showcasing the rating of 8.6, one of the highest ratings in Kinopoisk.
The Heated Rivalry Telegram channels are providing the episodes to all the Russian fans. Although it could be risky depending on the trackability of a user’s account, fans have found their own way to protect themselves through Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).
