Slo Pitch is an upcoming Canadian television series created by the same streaming service behind Heated Rivalry. The upcoming show focuses on a queer women’s softball team and follows a lighter and more grounded story than traditional professional sports dramas. The series is co-produced by Pageboy Productions and features Elliot Page as a co-producer and Emily Hampshire as both a cast member and executive producer.

The story is based on a Canadian web series that originally ran from 2020 to 2022. This new version is a 10-episode mockumentary about a struggling beer league softball team called the Public Lass Brovaries. The team is coached by Joanne Pico, who is dealing with a recent breakup and personal setbacks while trying to put her team back together. The season follows their matches, internal conflicts, awkward fundraisers, and rivalry with another team, including one led by Joanne’s ex

“Coach Joanne is dead set on turning this team around despite having just been dumped by her girlfriend and co-founder of the team,” the synopsis continues. “Throughout the summer, Joanne leads her lovable, chaotic crew through a season of strikeouts, petty rivalries, conservative-politician sponsors, and sexy carwash fundraisers gone wrong. With her ex now playing on a rival team, Joanne’s got a lot to prove this season. It’s time to win the breakup, get the gang back together, and maybe even find new love over beers in the dugout.”

Jess Salguiero plays Coach Joanne, and Emily Hampshire appears in the series and also serves as an executive producer. The cast also includes Karen Knox, Gwenlyn Cumyn, Emma Hunter, Chelsea Muirhead, Lane Webber, Kadijah Roberts Abdullah, and Amanda Cordner. At the moment, the series will stream through Crave, but it does not yet have a confirmed distributor in the United States. However, HBO Max is expected to take the show into their platform, similarly to Heated Rivalry. Meanwhile, Slo Pitch’s official account X shared that teaser material will be released soon, with the show slated to premiere at some point in 2026.
