HBO has chosen the Château de La Messardière, a 19th-century castle hotel in Saint-Tropez, as one of the main filming locations for The White Lotus and its upcoming Season 4 as per Variety. The Château de La Messardière is part of the Airelles Collection, a group of five-star hotels owned by businessman Stephane Courbit, who also founded Banijay Group, producer of Survivor and Peaky Blinders. Meanwhile, director and creator Mike White is currently writing the new installment of the series, which will be filmed across several properties on the French Riviera alongside the aforementioned hotel.
The luxury hotel, surrounded by 32 acres of parasol pines, cypress trees, and jasmine gardens, offers suites ranging from $3,000 to $8,000 per night. Guests enjoy exclusive features such as a spa, private beach transfers by Rolls-Royce, fine dining, sports facilities, and a children’s camp. HBO has not yet released an official comment about a potential release date, but production details confirm that filming will begin at the end of April 2026 and continue through October 2026.

As in previous seasons, White Lotus will blend multiple venues to create the show’s mix of elegance and intrigue, an aspect that has become its signature. While the storyline remains confidential, sources suggest that the Cannes Film Festival could appear in the plot. In addition, Variety reported that, like previous installments, Season 4 will follow a new group of hotel guests and employees over one week along the French Riviera, with additional scenes filmed in Paris. Casting is underway, and several French actors are auditioning. So far, Alexander Ludwig and AJ Michalka have been announced as the first new additions to the cast.
