Dylan Minnette, known for his role in Netflix’s “13 Reasons Why,” recently explained why he has left acting aside. The 27-year-old artist opened up about his decision on the Zach Sang Show, revealing that acting, while successful, had started to lose its sparkle, feeling more like routine work than passion.

“(..) but it also started to feel like a bit of a job…”

But what’s Dylan Minnette up to now, if he stepped back from the acting spotlight? Well, he is now turning his career towards a new rhythm as he dedicates himself to his rock band, Wallows. This transition wasn’t just a whim, it was a heartfelt move where he and his band members Braeden Lemasters and Cole Preston, found their true calling.

But hold on, the now rock artist hasn’t completely shut down acting! He hinted at a potential return to the screen around 2026, or once he feels Wallows has achieved its goals. With this, the former “13 Reasons Why” star wants to balance his previous passion with his current love, reflecting on broader artistic aspirations.

“At some point, when we’ve fulfilled our Wallows duties and … when we’re ready to take a break as a band, or just take a second, that’s when I feel like I’ll have the perfect inspiration to do something.”

As Wallows and Dylan Minette continue to evolve, the possibility to expand his reach through other expressions is far from being closed! It looks like the stage and the studio could both call the actor’s name, but each at the right time and correct pace for him.
