‘The Lion King‘, one of Disney‘s most popular classics, released in 1994, continues to have a large number of views on the aforementioned company’s streaming platform, a story full of revenge, death and betrayal, all because of greed to obtain the throne.
This is the story in which Scar, the king’s brother, due to his hunger of power, decides to confront his brother and kill him, in order to finally obtain his long-awaited title as the King of the jungle, however he did not count on his Nephew Simba, whom he had tricked to going away, would return to confront him and claim his father’s throne.
This film was very successful, and even won two Oscars, thanks to its fantastic soundtrack and the song ‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight‘ by Tim Rice and Elton John, in addition it also won the Golden Globe award at the category: ‘Best comedy or musical film‘, among others.
We all know the original story that we have seen hundreds of times with an emblematic ending, however that would not be the only end that was proposed for this installment, but rather a slightly darker and more somber ending had been thought of for this story.
In this alternative ending, Scar in his battle with Simba manages to throw him into the depths of the cliff, and assumes that he has died like his brother, Mufasa, however Simba is still alive, on the other hand the hyenas end up betraying Scar surrounding and burning him alive while they laugh.
