Barbie, starred by Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, and One Piece do not share many similarities at first glance. The only thing that comes to mind is the indisputable success both productions had upon their premieres, the first one selling millions of tickets in the big screen and the second one getting tons of views on Netflix.
However, it appears to be that besides both being smash hits, there could actually be a connection between One Piece and Barbie, all thanks to the fans who have re-imagined one of the Japanese animated series characters being played by no other than Ryan Gosling himself. It turns out that fans of both media juggernauts think the “La La Land” protagonist could be a good fit for One Piece’s antagonist Don Quixote Doflamingo.
Unfortunately, the live action only premiered 8 episodes that cover One Piece’s first arc. Because of this, we have mostly seen the main characters, Monkey D. Luffy and his friends. However, other characters that make their appearance in later seasons will probably have to wait to get their live-action debut.
Still, both Barbie and One Piece fans have put hands on deck and decided to imagine the Hollywood actor as Don Quixote Doflamingo for Netflix’s adaptation. These creative users have released a funny picture that has already gotten considerable amounts of shares and likes across social media platforms.
As a result, tons of fans have started asking Netflix to get Ryan Gosling for the role. Things are not looking too promising for that to happen, but the pictures speak for themselves: the role could probably fit the actor very well!
