EXO member Lay breaks his silence after the massive backlash due to his absence in EXO’s fan meeting, “EXO’verse.” SM Entertainment and the idol have just announced that the idol returned to China without providing any further explanation to the fans who were waiting to see him.
On December 14 KST, Lay took over a Chinese social media platform to talk with the fans and address the reason why he couldn’t be present during EXO’s fan meeting held in South Korea at Incheon’s INSPIRE Arena.
Why did Lay miss EXO’s fan meeting?
Lay explained that he had to urgently return to Beijing to attend an important event hosted by the National Theatre of China on December 14. Along with the message, the idol released a short statement to apologize to his fellow members and all of the fans who were at the event:
“I sincerely apologize to everyone who may have been inconvenienced by my absence.”
