On April 25th, EXO‘s Chen successfully completed his military service. There was a lot of anticipation about what would happen to his idol career considering his new facet as a father and husband that caused a controversy in 2020.
Much to EXO-L’s delight, Chen returns to the stage in August this year.
Kim Jongdae is part of the official lineup revealed by SM Entertainment for the upcoming SMTOWN LIVE 2022: SMCU EXPRESS TOKYO festival to be held in Japan.
Alongside Chen, there are also Suho and Kai who will present new music material. This is the first confirmed live performance for Jongdae in more than two and a half years.
The last time the idol participated in a concert was on December 31, 2019, at EXO Planet #5 – “The EXplOration”.

The festival with the SM artists will be face-to-face, unlike the online edition that was held to welcome the New Year 2022. This SMTOWN will take place in the imposing Tokyo Dome on August 27th and 28th. In addition to the three EXO members, the show will feature many other K-Pop artists.
As well as the news of his musical projects, fans were eager for Chen’s first message after leaving the army. The 29-year-old singer reappeared on the Lysn platform and recorded his affection for EXO-L.
