The first date of Taylor Swift‘s “Eras Tour” concluded yesterday in Rio de Janeiro with tragic outcomes. The reasons include the passing of concert-goer Ana Benevides, who died after having a cardiorespiratory arrest. In addition, thousands of fans fainted and suffered from dehydration due to the intense heat and the lack of free water bottles.
While part of these tragic situations were caused as a result of the sweltering conditions in Rio de Janeiro, fans and concert attendees believe that the Entertainment company T4F played a huge role in the catastrophic events that took place before and during Taylor Swift’s show at the Nilton Santos Olympic Stadium.
The company has received tons of backlash across social media platforms, as it allegedly banned fans from bringing in bottles to the show, threw away their electric fans, and didn’t hand out the water that Taylor Swift and her team provided. Amid all this controversy, T4F released a statement regarding the passing of Ana Benevides. Here’s what it says, translated from Portuguese:
“It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Ana Clara Benevides Machado, 23 years old.
Last night, Ana Clara felt unwell and was promptly attended to by the team of firefighters and paramedics, being taken to the medical center at the Nilton Santos Stadium for first aid protocol. Given the situation, the medical team chose to transfer her to Salgado Filho Hospital, where, after almost an hour of emergency care, she unfortunately died.
