It was confirmed on Tuesday, April 4, that Donald Trump went to the district attorney’s office in connection with an investigation for alleged hush payments made during the 2016 presidential election and then turned himself in to the court. He is currently being held in police custody at the Manhattan courthouse and is being held under arrest.
According to leaked information, the billionaire will be arraigned at 2 p.m., where Trump will enter a not guilty plea to the 34 counts.
For the businessman who was also present, this information would not have come as a surprise because he had posted a message on his social media accounts as he arrived at the courtroom.
“Heading to Lower Manhattan, to the courthouse. It seems so surreal, wow, I’m going to get arrested,” he wrote via Truth Social.
He added: “I can’t believe this is happening in the U.S. Wizard!”.
The aforementioned sum, according to information from the American press, was reported as “legal fees” of Donald Trump’s business rather than being included in his campaign accounts, which would have been against electoral laws.
