JYP Entertainment has publicly expressed after Jae, from day6, have communicated their “pause” in activities. He didn’t go into much detail, and shortly afterwards the agency issued a statement to confirm the termination of the contract and the artist’s departure from the group:

We had in-depth conversations with Jae for a long time and, after careful discussion, we decided to respect the artist’s opinion and conclude our exclusive contract”.

The information came to light on Jan. 1, after Jae declared that he “has made the decision to take a break”. In the message, he says he will come back after “working on himself“.

After an in-depth discussion with JYP Entertainment, I’m sorry to tell you that we’ve made the decision to take a break from DAY6’s activities for now. I’ll keep all the memories, from the sweat and tears we’ve shed together to the adventures and emotions we’ve shared over the past six years. I will come back after working on myself. Thanks!“.

It turns out that, according to JYP Entertainment, Jae ended his contract and left DAY6. In the statement, the agency says that he left on December 31, 2021 after “deep conversations“. Read in full:

Hello, this is JYP Entertainment.

First of all, we sincerely apologize for causing sudden news concern to My Day [fandom], which shows a lot of support for DAY6.

Jae, who has been a member of DAY6 so far, left the team on December 31, 2021, and his contract was terminated. We had deep conversations with Jae for a long time and, after careful discussion, we decided to respect the artist’s opinion and conclude our exclusive contract.

Although our relationship with Jae has come to an end, JYP Entertainment will also root for Jae’s future activities with her fresh start.

We promise to continue to support and strive for DAY6 activities, and we ask for the continued love and support of My Day.

Thanks.
