David Beckham and Prince Harry’s friendship has been everlasting since he was just a teenager. David was considered one of the strongest allies of the Prince after he stepped down from his royal duties in 2020 and relocated to the United States. However, their friendship might be fading away after a couple of troubles.
One of the highlights of why their friendship is becoming tortuous is because of their wives’ relationship, which has caused some tension between the two couples. Meghan Markle first accused Victoria Beckham of leaking information to the press, leading to an uncomfortable phone call between the Duke of Sussex and Beckham.
A close source to the marriage explained in a convo with the Sun in 2021 that the phone call was pretty awkward because of the accusations, which led them to distance themselves from each other for months.
“Harry was very polite, but it was a pretty awkward exchange and David was mortified. Inexplicably, [Meghan] feared Victoria was behind it. Harry is very protective of Meghan and decides to deal with the matter head-on, by directly contacting his good pal, David. He quickly put Harry right, and the two men agreed to move on – but it certainly made things awkward for a while.”
The rift slowly increased over the years until the point that Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, David, and Victoria Beckham haven’t been seen in public outings anymore. On top of that, David Beckham recently attended King Charles III’s event, increasing the tension between the two marriages.
