CORTIS is currently one of the most-talked-about K-pop groups after the boys embarked on their world tour. However, the spotlight might come with some unwanted attention from obsessed fans who are willing to do anything to be closer to their favorite idols; these kinds of disrespectful fans are usually called “Sasaengs.”
On July 24 KST, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul reported that two Chinese women were booked on charges of trespassing after allegedly entering CORTIS’ dormitory at around 2 a.m. on July 23. The group’s manager contacted police after discovering damaged parcels outside the entrance and finding the dormitory entrance door open.
The police officers who arrived at the scene found the two women hiding on another floor of the building and arrested them. The suspects reportedly told police that they had purchased the dormitory address through social media, and denied they damaged the parcels.
Now, CORTIS has become a Sasaeng target, as earlier the e group’s agency warned that some sasaengs had repeatedly trespassed into the members’ residence and even attached GPS tracking devices to their vehicles. K-Netizens and online communities are strongly against this kind of illicit activity and ask for respect for all Kpop idols.
