President Claudia Sheinbaum announced that BTS will visit Mexico’s National Palace on May 6, 2026, before the 7-member team begins their concerts in Mexico City. The head of state confirmed the visit during her morning press conference and said the meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. local time. Sheinbaum described the event as something special for young people and praised the group for sharing messages of friendship, peace, humanity, and love through their songs.

“This is for the youth — today, the group BTS is coming here to the National Palace,” the Mexican president announced. They have something very beautiful: What they sing always conveys messages of friendship, of peace — very humanistic messages — and of love.”
Because of the strong excitement around BTS’ return to Mexico, Sheinbaum revealed that a National Palace balcony will be opened so that the members can greet their fans. The palace faces the Zócalo, one of the most famous public spaces in Mexico City. Meanwhile, RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are expected to appear there before their shows at GNP Seguros Stadium on May 7, 2026, May 9, 2026, and May 10, 2026.

The BTS Mexico concerts sold out quickly, with more than 136,000 tickets purchased. Demand was so high that Sheinbaum asked South Korea’s President Lee Jae Myung for help in arranging more BTS shows in Mexico. On January 26, 2026, she said South Korea had later forwarded the request to HYBE, the agency that represents BTS. The boy group’s return is expected to bring a major economic impact to Mexico City, with the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism of Mexico City predicting a revenue of over $107.5 million USD.
