The chart achievement happened several months after the project’s initial release and followed a coordinated streaming effort by ARMY, the group’s official fandom. Fans organized the campaign to support BTS after the group’s members announced that they would not send their music for consideration at the upcoming 2027 Grammy Awards.
The 7-member team made that decision after the Recording Academy announced the new Best Asian Pop Music Performance category. Reacting to the new category, BTS took to their individual Instagram profiles, explaining that music should be heard and accepted for what it is, without being limited by region or language. The members posted an identical statement to their Instagram Stories, saying about their decision:
