BTS’ Suga recently opened up about his experience embarking on a solo tour without his bandmates. The rapper had to endure months of preparation for the D-DAY TOUR which has been an enormous success so far and has received a lot of acclaim. Earlier this week, the North American leg of the tour wrapped up in Oakland.
The idol is ready to continue with the Asian leg of the tour and to celebrate it he appeared on the cover of a special edition of Marie Claire Korea and gave an interview where he discussed his career as a solo artist and the vision that he had for the tour.
“I’ve been preparing for the tour for such a long time now that the expression ‘direction’ feels foreign to me. My intention with this tour is not to realize my full potential nor to succeed as a solo artist. I think the current form of the solo tour came about because it’s physically impossible for the seven of us to perform together now, which would be ideal. Our fans have waited for such a long time to see us live and I wanted to pay them back somehow.”
The South Korean artist also joked along with the interviewer and revealed that he feels all the weight on his shoulders when he performs alone in contrast to when he does it with BTS as he sometimes forgets the lyrics. Their fans, the so-called ARMY, were also happy to hear that the whole group is looking forward to being together again.
