This December 2nd became an important date for BTS and ARMY, as it marked the day of the release of RM‘s first official solo album, titled “Indigo“. In a recent interview on the ‘TongTongCulture‘ channel, the idol explained details of the meaning of the project’s name.
RM explained why he decided to call his album ‘Indigo’, which many fans have speculated since the announcement.
He said that he has been conceptualizing the album for a long time. Also, he confess that for him this album is like a diary full of emotions, feelings, thoughts and ideas.
For the BTS leader, this project is special because “it was born after a passionate effort“. And that the album reflects “more Kim Namjoon and hopefully a fresh start“. On his part, the title fulfills RM’s wish to have his first studio album named after a natural color.

Just as color can be seen in different ways by different people, it represents both different genres and moods, and the different tracks on the record combining to create “harmony in the color indigo“.
The idol explained that collaborating with so many artists was part of creating the album’s essence, because he believed that certain songs “come alive by adding new colors to others“.
“The album contained songs to which he wanted to add frequencies, stories and feelings from others“.
