BTS’ RM opens up about seeing more K-pop artists nominated for the Grammys

Ahead of BTS‘ comeback, the boy gave a new group interview where RM opened up about seeing more K-pop artists nominated for the Grammys and their desire to win one of these prestigious awards.

On February 13th, the boys were revealed on the GQ magazine cover with new photos of the boy group finally together again, but also an interview where they update fans about their upcoming album ‘ARIRANG‘ and more details about their comeback.

Amid their talk, the media asked if winning a Grammy is still a goal for them, to which RM answers, confessing, “I don’t know,” and continues explaining:

“Because time has passed. There are a lot of K-pop-related nominees you see in the general field, and, really, I want to send big applause for them.”

This way, the leader congratulates the artists who were nominated for this award in the previous edition, specifically ‘APT.‘ by Rosé and ‘GOLDEN‘ by HUNTR/X, who become the winner of the night, and continue sharing their thoughts.

“I mean, we’ll try.”

“Maybe we’ll submit our album to the Grammys again. But I don’t know, we don’t want to be desperately eager for it…. We don’t want to say anymore like, ‘Ah, man, we want the Grammys.’ I mean, it doesn’t mean that we really don’t want it—but we’ll try. But if not, then okay.”

He concludes by assuring that despite “the Grammys being one of the goals that we haven’t really gotten in the past,” there are currently more important things to focus on, like “we are here back together again,” and that they are going to reunite with fans around the world.
