BTS’ RM is well known for making heartfelt donations to hospitals, different charities, and the arts. The idol has ventured into this artistic side for a while now, so it’s no surprise he is doing his best to help those in need.
On March 11, the Overseas Korean Culture Heritage Foundation announced that their new 24 traditional Korean painting catalog titled, “‘IT’S ____ HERE : Shining Korean Old Paintings Abroad” was released using funds RM donated to the foundation in 2022.
RM has donated 100 million won for second consecutive year to preserve & restore overseas Korean artifacts.
According to the Overseas Korean Cultural Heritage Foundation the leader of @BTS_twt, Kim Namjoon, had also donated the same amt last year but did not publicly disclose + https://t.co/3zjtlJCv4V pic.twitter.com/X7mBcQnPvw— cestlavie_90⁷⊙⊝⊜💜 (@cestlavie9090) September 16, 2022
After almost four years, the catalog was finally released, introducing 24 Korean paintings created over roughly 400 years, spanning from the early 16th century to the 20th century. This is not the first time that RM has donated to the foundation, as he also donated 75,000 in 2021.
The foundation continues to promote projects focused on the repatriation and preservation of Korean cultural heritage abroad by distributing the catalog to public libraries and major research institutions both in South Korea and abroad.
