RM confessed this Tuesday, June 14, that the ups and downs experienced by BTS members in the last ten years have fueled the group’s hiatus.
The revelation was made on the live “BTS DINNER: PARTY”, broadcast on YouTube. According to RM, the release of “Butter” and “Permission to Dance” made him reflect on his professional but also personal goals: “I didn’t know what kind of group we were anymore”.
The fact that groups “lose track of who they are and forget the messages they want to share with fans” stems from problems with the industry, says RM.

“The problem with K-Pop and the whole idol system is that they don’t give you time to mature. You have to keep producing music and keep doing something”, he said.
“After you get up in the morning and do your makeup, there is no more time to grow up. And it’s not just about music and work; I have changed as a human being in the last ten years”.
“So I needed to think and have some time alone, and then those thoughts could mature into something uniquely mine. I could balance this with previous work.
But after ten years of living as BTS and working all our schedules, I can’t physically mature anymore”, he stated.
“I need to be aware of why I am here, who the members are to me, the path we are going to take as a group to conduct interviews and write lyrics. But right now I’m not sure which group we are”, he concluded.
During “BTS DINNER: PARTY,” the boys said that the idea now is to focus on individual works, not just mixtapes, but official solo albums, as well as Jin who wants to act. The first to be released will be J-Hope‘s, but the date has not been announced.
