Following the feminist controversies of South Korean Olympic archer An San and MC JaeJae, an anti-feminist website listed BTS’s RM, Red Velvet’s Joy, and Suzy as feminists. The site, known as Check Femi, has since been banned and has categorized public figures into three groups of “suspects,” “verified,” and “cutting edge.”

The website,  has classifying public figures into three groups of “suspects,” “verified,” and “cutting edge.” The website administrator stated that the categorization system was created to help people “Choose feminists from the general public” and decide which celebrities to follow or not to follow.

The site administrator also stated that the website does not distinguish between radical feminists and those who are “positively recognized for working for the improvement of women’s rights.”

RM, Joy, and Suzy were listed as “verified” feminists because they showed their support for feminism in the past. RM once revealed that he read Kim Ji Young, born 1982, a feminist novel, during a live broadcast. Red Velvet Irene also read the book and anti-feminist fanatics burned her photo cards after discovering she had read it.

The site administrator said the categorization system was created to help people “pick feminists from the general public” and decide which celebrities to follow or not. The site administrator also stated that the site makes no distinction between radical feminists and those who are “positively recognized for working for the improvement of women’s rights.” RM, Joy, and Suzy have been labeled “verified” feminists for having shown support for feminism in the past.

South Korean President Moon Jae In was listed as “avant-garde” feminist, and Girl’s Day’s Lee Hyeri and actor Jung Woo Sung were listed as “suspicious” feminists.
