BigHit Music is the record label that the worldwide sensation BTS is signed to, from their debut in 2013, and they have just now announced that the members of the boy band are parting ways to fulfill a requirement of the South Korean government.

The group has been gaining popularity nonstop, specially in the last 6 years, they obtained the maximum popularity in their home country and then started a conquest all around the world. After multiple hit singles, many records in sales and streaming broken, multi-million contracts and very successful concerts, it looks like the dream is finally slowing down for the seven members, but it definitely won’t stop there.

In the statement released by the company, they clarify that Jin, who’s on the verge of turning 30 years old, the oldest member, will be the first one to enroll in the military service demanded by the militia, followed by second oldest member Suga, who’s 29 at the moment. In the meantime, it’s very likely that the other members will also have a year of music related activities and then fulfill the military service as well, this in order for them to be able to come back as seven in 2025, as the record label announced. Let’s do the math.

The militia requires each male to spend minimum 2 years in the service, and there are just over 3 years from now to 2025, so each member could have 1 year of commercial activities with their careers and then enroll in the military service to be available for the BTS comeback in 2025.

That means that the “Yet To Come In Busan” concert will be the last appearance of the seven members together in quite some time, and it looks like they had a great time. As for now, we wish the best for all the boys in their near future, whether it’s music releases or the serve time.

The country’s defense minister, who reigns in the military affairs as well, said in last August that the BTS will be able to participate in commercial activities abroad while they are in the military service, but will not be exempt.

Here’s the full statement of the company.
