In a K-pop justice move, BTS’ Jungkook, V & IVE’s Wonyoung have finally won against online bullying. The reason? Infamous YouTuber Sojang has been handed a two-year prison sentence (with three years’ probation) plus a 200 million KRW fine. For years, the content creator spread fake, scandalous claims about the top K-pop acts we mentioned before to earn views and subscribers.

Infamous YouTuber Sojang received a two-year suspended prison sentence with three years of probation and was fined ₩200 million for defaming multiple celebrities.

The Incheon District Court finally gave their final word on January 14, marking a major win for the artists and companies who fought back. Sojang’s videos ranged from baseless rumors about prostitution to plastic surgery accusations, body shaming, and the rumored love life of idols. In response, several lawsuits were filed against her, with Wonyoung winning a 1 billion KRW payout, while BTS demanded 90 million KRW for damage to their reputations. Kang Daniel and other celebs also stacked up victories against Sojang.

Sojang reportedly made around 250 million KRW just from this malicious content. Now, facing fines, two years of prison time, and 120 hours of community service, she serves as a cautionary story for any online bullies trying to make a profit from false allegations, rumors, and lies.
