Jungkook of BTS has apologized to fans after his live stream on February 26, 2026, sparked controversy. During that broadcast, the “Seven” singer used an English profanity, made an obscene gesture toward an off-screen friend, admitted that he had smoked in the past, and spoke about frustration with his agency, BigHit Music. After that, some viewers advised him to end the stream, and he pushed back by responding, “Don’t tell me what to do.” The moment quickly started criticism and led to reactions online.
Following that infamous stream, Jungkook returned to Weverse on April 8 for another live broadcast and spoke openly about what happened. He said he was not fully sure whether his earlier behavior had crossed a serious line. He also said that some of the language and attitudes seen in that broadcast are common among YouTubers and people working in entertainment. Despite that, he admitted that many fans may have been uncomfortable because he had not shown that side of himself so openly before.

“I want to apologise to the ARMYs (BTS’ fandom) who felt uncomfortable in that regard, and I will exercise restraint in the future,” the singer said.
The apology came shortly before the beginning of BTS’ ARIRANG World Tour, which started on April 9, 2026, in Goyang, South Korea. The boy band will later travel to Japan and the United States for the following tour stops, comprising a global run with a total of 85 dates across multiple countries in Asia, North America, South America, Europe, and Australia.
