Jin says he feels pressure as the oldest member of BTS
In an interview published by Rolling Stone on April 15, 2026, Jin spoke openly about what it feels like to be the oldest member of BTS. The “Super Tuna” singer revealed that he does not move as well as some of his other group members, which is why he has pushed himself to work harder during rehearsals. Instead of feeling defeated, Jin has used that difference as motivation, arriving early or staying late to practice so he could improve his performance skills.

“I guess it’s always physically taxing. While it’s true that the same moves can feel a bit more difficult now, that’s just my burden to bear.”
“To be honest, I’m aware that I don’t move quite as well as the other members. So I’ve always come early to practice, or stayed late to catch up.”
Jin revealed his solo tour kept him from writing on ARIRANG
In the interview, Jin also revealed that he had little creative participation in the songs included on BTS’s latest album, ARIRANG. The 33-year-old shared he was still busy with his solo tour when the project was taking shape. His first solo tour, #RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR, followed the release of his solo album Echo. By the time he returned to the studio to participate in the making of ARIRANG, the songwriting was already done, and more than 100 demo tracks had been recorded. Over seven to 10 days, he tested recordings for the strongest songs and quickly became part of the final process.
“I didn’t write any of the songs because I was still on my solo tour at the time. When I arrived at the studio, there were a 100-something songs already made.”

Jin says reuniting with BTS is what matters most to him
Even with his limited participation in ARIRANG, Jin made it clear that he is grateful to be back with the group. He praised the other members for doing a beautiful job on the album and said he was happy to join them again. He also joked that while he may not be the best dancer, he believes he is the most handsome.
“I do think I’m more good-looking than the other members. I should have at least one thing I’m best at in the group.”
