Jin of BTS finally opened up about his feelings, at his concert in Argentina, about military service and what is the reality behind everything that has happened. The idol talked about his desire to serve the military and his plans, as well as the criticism and hate he has received for the postponement and exemption requests.
“I’m going to talk a little bit about ‘Voldemort’ for us, ‘the act that must not be named,’ or military service,” Jin began.
“After I wrap up this performance in Argentina, I think I’ll fill out my mandatory service forms as soon as I land in Korea.”
“Originally, the members and I discussed my intention to enlist shortly after the ‘BE’ album. However, that summer, with the pandemic, our song ‘Dynamite’ hit #1 on Billboard’s ‘Hot 100’.”
“Due to their unexpected success, I couldn’t go into the military right away. We were still in the middle of a pandemic, and in order to repay the love that fans have shown us, we decided to work on ‘Butter’ and ‘Permission To Dance’.
These two songs also performed well, so it didn’t feel right to drop everything and leave the members and fans.“
