BTS’ Jimin met critical acclaim and commercial success after the release of his sophomore album, “MUSE.” This time, the idol ventured into the American market and completed the task after breaking one major important record inside the Kpop genre.
On January 14, Billboard revealed that Jimin’s second solo album, “MUSE,” initially debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 back in July 2024, is now breaking a record for the longest-charting Kpop album.
“MUSE” is now spending its 25th consecutive week on the chart at No. 135. This feat earns Jimin the first Korean soloist ever to chart an album for 25 straight weeks on the Billboard 200. Jungkook also managed to earn 25 weeks but not consecutively with his debut album, “GOLDEN.”
In addition, Jimin’s title track, “Who” has also spent its 24th non-consecutive week on Billboard Hot 100 at No. 39, extending his record as the second longest-charting Kpop solo song in Hot 100 history besides PSY’s 2012 hit, “Gangnam Style.” Congratulations Jimin on this new Billboard 200 record!
