In late April, Korean media outlet Biz Hankook reported that the National Health Insurance Service seized BTSJimin‘s apartment at Nine One Hannam in Seoul on January 25th because the artist failed to pay his health insurance premiums. The artist first bought the apartment for 5.9 billion won in May last year.

According to the report, Jimin received four foreclosure notices by certified mail during the period that his apartment was temporarily in foreclosure. The article also said that the seizure was finally lifted on April 22nd after paying health insurance premiums.

At the time, Big Hit Music responded:

Jimin was unaware of the issue due to his overseas schedules, extended vacation since the end of last year, and then his subsequent overseas schedule, however as soon as he became aware of the situation he paid the full amount of charges and the case is now closed”, the agency stated.

We apologize for causing concern to the artist and his fans due to corporate negligence.”

"We were devastated by the recent surge of hate crimes, including Asian American hate crimes. To put a stop to this and support the cause, we'd like to take this opportunity to speak about it ourselves once again." — JIMIN, White House Press Briefing 22.05.31#BTSatTheWhiteHouse pic.twitter.com/kre4XWnFf6

On June 2nd, Jimin wrote a lengthy Weverse post following BTS’ visit to the White House to meet with President Joe Biden. In this message, he exonerated himself:

ARMY, this is Jimin.

Have they been good?

This time we visit the United States.

Surely you know what kind of event we participate in.

I am grateful and also honored.

Because there are ARMYs who have various kinds of races, nationalities, and cultures, we were able to participate in this event and raise our voices representing them.

However, I wonder if the me that is here is enough to represent them.

I’m sorry I made you worry because of my immaturity all along.

From now on, I will continue to work hard to become an even more mature person so as not to cause you any worries.
C

They must have been worried because I don’t come often (on social media) to visit them.

I will try to come more.

I always miss you, ARMY”.
